After several months of public input, testing, and policy development, the Breezy Point Police Department began using Body Worn Cameras in February 2023. As expected, the cameras have proven to be useful not only in criminal investigations but also in improving transparency and public trust.
The department currently uses camera products manufactured by Axon. They have been reliable and easy to use for officers as well as for evidence and records personnel who handle the digital evidence they create.
